Some municipalities require the involvement of Geotechnical engineers in the design of road structures. This allows assurance of the placement of the pavement structure according to the municipalities design recommendations. Our team is able to complete a road assessment using both invasive; test holes, and non-invasive techniques; Benkelman beam analyses. Therefore we are able to determine how the pavement structure is withstanding traffic loading. ValleyGeo also provides density testing in order to determine the ratio of voids to the solid particles in the soil. Good compacted soil has minimal pores creating a stable soil structure. We also proof-roll the pavement, ensuring it’s compaction meets city standards.
